| Medium deep dark red. Charry earth characters on the nose. Balanced, savoury red and dark fruit characters warm the palate. Great breadth across the palate before long finish. Highly enjoyable now, it will certainly accommodate short-term cellaring. |

| The aim for the Ménage Series wines is to produce a wine true to its site while being within the overall house style made at Lethbridge Wines. The fruit for the 2008 Lethbridge Ménage Que Syrah Syrah (Shiraz) was sourced from Oakdene's vineyard at Wallington, Geelong. Hand-picked from vines yielding 2.5 tonnes/acre, the fruit was 100% crushed and destemmed. Pre-fermentation maceration ensued for approximately 7 days until indigenous yeast fermentation started. Fermentation was carried out in a mixture of small 1000L open vats and 5000L red wine fermenter tanks. Pigéage 3 times/day for wine in small vats, with twice-daily pump-overs conducted for the wine in tank. Fermentation temperatures peaked between 30-33ºC. Fermentation was followed by 7 days post-fermentation maceration, and wine pressed straight to barrel (30% new French oak, 70% older French oak). Barrels went through natural MLF, which finished in November 2008. Wines were racked three times throughout the maturation period and bottled with minimal filtration in March 2009. |

| 'The Big Red Wine Book 2010-2011' Review:
Lethbridge is an outstanding winery - all of their wines are good as a minimum.
2008 RELEASE
Funky-tasting wine. Quite meaty with blackberry and cherry fruit flavours and a liberal twist of black pepper. It's medium-bodied with nutty nuances and lots of dry, savoury, spicy tannin. Very cool-climate in style, but very good. Love the mix of dryness and fleshy ripeness. Will have great appeal to those who enjoy cool, spicy shiraz.
